Wegovy on the NHS

Wegovy® (semaglutide injection) was launched in the UK from, Monday September 4 2023, as an additional option to support people living with obesity.

Non-urgent advice: Patient Notice

Unfortunately there is a worldwide shortage of this class of medicine, and so there is very limited stock available in the UK for use through Tier 3 weight management services only. This means that we are unable to provide prescriptions for Wegovy in primary care, in accordance with NICE guidance.
